Lock: replacement of the existing old retaining wall | Kleinmachnow | DE
The stability of the old cantilever sheet pile wall of the access basin to the Kleinmachnow lock was at risk. A land slide caused by the measured movement of the structure would engender major obstructions of the lock’s northern chamber.
The existing old retaining wall was therefore replaced by an 111 m long sheet pile wall consisting of 15.5 to 16.5 m long AZ 28 sheet piles in steel grade S 355 GP.
The AZ-piles were installed with a hydraulic press to avoid noise and vibrations.
