Agde, a level crossing is to be removed and replaced by a rail bridge over the RD 13. The removal of PN288 and the associated roadworks will help to improve the daily lives of local residents and transport users, both rail and road. The project consists in creating a watertight enclosure with sheet piles and a steel tubes/AZ® piles combined wall under the railway bridge, to ensure its load-bearing capacity during the temporary phase.

In France, the Bioparc of Doué-la-Fontaine near the Loire Valley and the Animal Park of Sainte-Croix in Lorraine region have chosen steel sheet piles to create original spaces for some of their exhibits. At Doué-la-Fontaine, 250 t of GU 8S profiles form an elliptical enclosure. They were installed with a 'staggered combination' technique, alternating long lengths sheet piles interspaced with shorter sheet piles. At the 'Parc de Sainte-Croix', 310 t of PU 22-1.0 sheet piles were used.

As the Nordhavn Tunnel is to be built with the cut and cover method, it requires a temporary closure of a large portion of the Svanemøllen harbour. During the construction phase harbour facilities and about half of the boat floating docks will be moved to the nearby Færgehavn Nord harbour. ArcelorMittal supplied in 2021 approximately 1190 tonnes of AU18 sheet piles, in steel grade S355GP, with a length ranging between 7.0m and 13.0m for the 450 metres long breakwater, and some 65 tonnes of 10.0m – 10.7m long GU12N, S355GP, for a new dock at Svanemøllehavnen.

This case study describes the contribution of steel sheet pile structures for the execution of temporary and permanent structures for some landmark buildings executed during the period 2010 - 2020 in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Its watertighness and flexibility allowed the construction of (deep) cofferdams in difficult soil conditions in the sea, as well as deep pits on land.

Extension of the Port of Rønne, the largest city on the island of Bornholm in Denmark. Quay 33 is a heavy-duty quay, 280 m long, and Quay 34, a multipurpose quay, is 300 m long. Dredge levels are -13.0 m. Quay 34 can accommodate cruise ships up to 350 meters. The quay walls were built with the HZ-M/AZ combined wall system (roughly 2 600 tonnes) and with an anchor level below the seawater level.

It is the second phase of a project initiated in the late 1990s where some 80 groynes were built. A huge land area behind the beachfront lies below the seawater level, so the levee (beachfront) plays a crucial role for the local agriculture.

A 390 meter long anchored steel sheet pile wall has been designed to cope with the most unfavourable loading case: flooding in the river Seine and an empty basin. The service life of the new structure is 100 years.

The new 270 m long combined wall was installed in front of an old sheet pile quay wall that was partially demolished. The HZ-M king piles were driven with a large impact hammer into the sandstone / siltstone layer.

Liefkenshoek rail link Antwerp, Belgium

The Liefkenshoek rail link, currently the biggest infrastructural project in Belgium, is forging ahead in the Port of Antwerp since its start in November 2008. Connecting the port installations on the left bank of the River Scheldt and the Antwerp-North main railway hub on the right bank, it will provide a solution for the growing freight traffic in this area.

'Angoflex’ spool base was inaugurated in March 2006 and is located in Dande, Angola. A Portuguese construction company was hired to build this jetty located north of Luanda, near the mouth of the Dande River, for the service of barges and ships for spooling pipelines. It features a unique 600 m long jetty, with water depths of up to 11 m at the bulkheads.
