First National Congress of the Port Sector

The Congress will take place over three days, covering strategic challenges, port operations, and the social and humanitarian impact.

The first day will address the major strategic challenges affecting the port system, from the international geopolitical context to the latest European policies. The role of sustainability and energy innovation will be discussed, with particular attention to port electrification, new marine fuels, and the circular economy.

The second day will focus on port operations, business models, and the essential services that ensure the smooth functioning of ports. Key issues such as the evolution of maritime transport, the role of service providers, port security and safety, and advances in customs and border control will be analyzed.

The final day will focus on people as the driving force for change in the port environment. Participants will reflect on the social and humanitarian impact of port activity, the need for leadership adapted to the digital age, and the importance of attracting, training, and retaining talent in a sector undergoing transformation.
