WindEurope’s Annual Conference 2026 in Madrid (21–23 April) focuses on wind energy as a strategic pillar for Europe’s net‑zero, energy security, and industrial competitiveness.

The event frames wind power as central to responding to geopolitical tensions, global competition, and growing disinformation about decarbonisation. It highlights three core messages: wind is cheap (the lowest-cost option even with system integration costs), wind is clean (very low environmental and water footprint, with about 90% of turbine mass recyclable and a commitment to full circularity), and wind is strategic (homegrown European industry providing hundreds of thousands of jobs and investment in rural and coastal regions while reducing fossil fuel dependence).
